Reeking Reclamation: Creating books inspired by the Grimoire

(A Spell Book Binding Workshop)

• Monday, Oct. 26 – 6:30 p.m.
• Community Credit Union Business Innovation Centre, 5 Ratchford St.

Make a book. Set an intention. Reclaim a story.

Participants will learn simple bookbinding techniques, reflect on Esther Cox’s story beyond the haunting, and cast wishes and intentions together.

Learn simple techniques to sew, glue, and decorate your book, then fill its pages with affirmations and wishes for abundance, healing, health, joy, creativity, and more.

As we create, we’ll look beyond the haunting to remember Esther Cox, the young woman behind the legend, the sexual violence she experienced, and the ways her story was dismissed and sensationalized.

All materials will be provided to create your own book of intentions, inspired by spell books, also known as grimoires.

Come create, connect, and reclaim a little of Esther’s story.
