Chignecto Isthmus Witches of Wind & Water and Campfire Ghost Stories

This event, which kicks off Esther Fest 2025, will begin with a Witch Dance featuring The Chignecto Isthmus Witches of Wind & Water. You are welcome to watch or join them in dance!
We welcome you to come dressed as a witch if you’re so inclined!

Sixth Annual Scarecrow Stroll

  • Oct. 17-31 – Multiple Locations throughout Amherst

The sixth annual Scarecrow Stroll will take place from October 17-31, 2025! Wander our charming streets lined with creative, quirky, and spooky scarecrows made by local businesses, schools, community groups and residents.

This year we’ve expanded the event to encourage local homeowners to take part! Amherst in Gloom (a spin on the local initiative Amherst in Bloom) is for residents who love to decorate their home/yard with Halloween/spooky/fall decor! When you submit your address we will add it to the map for our community to tour your scarecrows and wonderfully gloomy scenery.

The deadline to sign up and be included on the map is Friday, October 10, 2025

Haunted Woods

  • Oct. 17, 23, 24 and 30 – Fenwick, NS

Patti’s Wilderness Day Camp is offering a Haunted Woods after school program in Fenwick, N.S. during the last two weeks of October.
Kids can enjoy Halloween snacks and fun in the haunted woods.

The Great Amherst Ghost Walk with Charlie Rhindress 

  • Mon. – Wed., Oct. 20-22 and 27-29 – 6-7 p.m. nightly
  • Downtown Amherst

Join host Charlie Rhindress on a walk through downtown Amherst to hear about the town’s haunted history, including the story of The Great Amherst Mystery.

Ghost Hunts with ParaSight

  • Tuesday to Thursday, Oct. 21-23 – Two investigations per night

ParaSight is a local group of like minded individuals, with an interest in the paranormal, who have been doing business and residential investigations since 2020. The ParaSight team will explain their ghost hunting tools and techniques, then lead a scary investigation, looking for proof that ghosts really exist. Each session is limited to 12 participants.

Happily Ever Afterlife by Jenny Siddall

Esther Fest is pleased to present the world premiere of this community production written by local actor and musician, Jenny Siddall.

What do you get when a quirky ghost hunter couple, two bickering ghosts and an eccentric psychic medium all end up together in an old haunted farmhouse? A very funny ghost story that will have audiences laughing in delight, gasping in surprise, and sighing with all the feels.

Esther Fest Monster Mash Youth Dance

  • Dance is open to Grades 6-9 (Ages 11-15)

Last year’s event was a graveyard smash, so we’re back again for another Esther Fest Monster Mash Youth Dance! Put on your best costume, bring your best ghost, ghoul, and goblin friends, and dance the night away!

Psychic Medium Laura Warren Live

An evening with spirit

We are thrilled to have Medium Laura Warren return to Esther Fest after a very well received talk at our Paranormal Conference last year. This year Laura will share her personal journey and connect with attendees while delivering heartfelt readings from spirit. While not everyone will receive a personal reading, the shared experiences often carry profound messages that resonate deeply, offering comfort, healing, and a sense of inner peace. This very special event will provide the opportunity to witness the power of spirit in an intimate setting.

Ghost Hunts with Paranormal Phenomena Research & Investigation

Experience the thrill of the unknown as you join Paranormal Phenomena Research & Investigation (PPRI) for an exclusive, hands-on ghost hunt.

Limited to just 14 participants, this unique event gives participants the opportunity to use real paranormal investigation equipment alongside experienced investigators.

Haunted Maze

Step inside this haunted maze for a uniquely scary experience filled with twists, turns, and scary surprises. Admission is by donation. 

Please Note: May be a little intense for really young children as there are spooky sounds, flashing lights, and moving props.

Haunted Hockey Night

On Halloween Night the Amherst Stadium will transform into the ultimate haunted arena as Team Canada Red takes on Team Czech Republic, a U17 World Challenge exhibition matchup.

Signal Hill Halloween Party

Put on your best costume and dance til midnight with the wonderful live band, Signal Hill. There will be prizes for best costume. Come get spooky and dance the night away.
